' SHAKE YOUR PEACE! Presents'
creates "velorutionary" concerts
in scenic public places (the top of Twin Peaks in San Francisco for
example), employing its custom "human
powered P.A. system" where electricity for the sound-system is generated by
the pedaling audience (utilizing bicycles propped up on two special kickstands
and rigged with special generators), and following up its concerts with outrageous
social activities such as capture the flag, ultimate frisbee, and human kite-flying.
Launched with the creation of the San Francisco Bicycle Music Festival ( www.BicycleMusicFestival.com ),
SHAKE YOUR PEACE! Presents is operated for the sheer fun of it by SHAKE
YOUR PEACE!, a sustainable, bicycle-touring band based in San Francisco ( www.ShakeYourPeace.com
SHAKE YOUR PEACE! is
a sustainable, bicycle-touring band based in San Francisco, CA. With
a philosophy that it's as important for musicians to create harmony
offstage as it is for them to create harmony onstage, SHAKE YOUR
PEACE! tours exclusively on bicycles - recently completed a 600 mile
'rock & roll bicycle
tour of Utah,' in April of 2007, and is preparing for a 5000 mile tour
all the way down to Chiapas, Mexico - launching this October 2007
and ending sometime in February 2008. In the spirit of creating "harmony
offstage" SHAKE YOUR
PEACE! has also developed a custom pedal-powered PA system where the audience
creates the electricity needed to run the sound system via bicycles, plants
one tree for each CD it makes, and even runs its web site on 100% wind-power.

SONYA COTTON
Straight out of American
folklore - Sonya Cotton's music plods into your ears like a beautiful hooded
bank robber on a Tennessee horse, harmonies and instruments sparkling above her
shoulders in small circles like specks of brown dust - rising through shafts
of orange light that look like 2x4's laid through the boughs. From under the
hood you hear a voice that sounds like Edgar Allen Poe meets Judy Collins meets
Alison Krauss - dark hypnotic folk lyrics and sturdy country phrasing like a
Carolina shack's doorframe in the summer, but ringing high and clear like a New
England church bell in the middle of Winter. It's so beautiful you'd open the
safe and give her all the gold.
